Well, the 2006/7 IAC Fishing Race has finally drawn to a close. As usual the members of the IAC have upheld the long tradition of good-natured and friendly sportsmanship with many complaints, illegal entries and arguments mostly involving the final winner Geoff Maynard. Now Geoff has caught some fine fish, many were even legal entries (he said in a surprised manner). This has enabled him to scrape home in a close race with Chris Plumb that went to the last session of the season before the final places were decided. However, actions such as carrying postal scales to weigh very small fish and trying to gain the inclusion (denied) of out of season fish whilst at the same time attempting to gain the points for three did nothing to destroy his reputation as a blackguard, cad and general bearded type person that he has upheld all season long - and for most of his life before that probably.
So .... Congratulations to Geoff for the win and commiserations to Chris for missing out.
Biggest fish was Tim Stannards carp of 25-02 whilst the only other 20 was Richard Bartletts pike of 20-04.
Pathetic!
